Court-Required Community Service

A number of court-compelled service hour offenses may be completed by volunteering at the Food Bank once approved by the Court-Compelled Coordinator. All individuals with court-ordered hours must be at least 16 years old, and must call and leave a message at 630-443-6910 ext. 192 or send an email to courtcompelled@northernilfoodbank.org to verify the offense is of an acceptable nature. All individuals with court-ordered community service hours must:

  • Be at least 16 years old

  • Must call 630.443.6910 x192 or email courtcompelled@northernilfoodbank.org to verify their hours can be completed at the food bank and receive information on how to schedule their volunteer shifts

  • Must complete a Court-Compelled Intake Form and include a copy of court documentation to verify the offense

The Court-Compelled Program is separate from our volunteer program. Do not register to volunteer online for public food packing shifts, as those hours WILL NOT count toward your mandated community service hours.

Approved individuals may choose to complete hours at any of our Centers in Geneva, Joliet, Lake Forest, or Rockford. After approved by the Court-Compelled Coordinator, individuals must set up their schedule with appropriate Center staff contact given by Court-Compelled Coordinator before beginning serving hours.
