How to Cancel (Unregister) for a Scheduled Opportunity

We understand that life sometimes gets in the way of volunteering. That is okay!

When something comes up and you realize you won't be able to attend a scheduled volunteer shift, we ask that you manage your registration by cancelling it online.

Individuals: Follow the instructions below. If you have any difficulties, simply email volunteer@northernilfoodbank.org to let us know as soon as possible.

Team Leaders: Follow the instructions below. If your scheduled shift is less than two weeks away, please also email volunteer@northernilfoodbank.org so we can recruit to fill those slots.
How-To
Cancel Your Volunteer Shift: Individual
- Log in to your volunteer account.
- In the top right corner of the page, click on the circular icon containing your initials (or the hamburger menu on mobile). A menu will appear.
- Click on Opportunity Responses.
- You should see a list of your past and upcoming volunteer responses. Using the “Shift Start” column to make sure you're on the right date, find the opportunity that you want to cancel.
- Underneath the “Options” tab, click on the down arrow next to Select an Action to open a selection of choices.
- Select Unregister to cancel your shift. When the pop-up window asks you to confirm, click Yes.
Cancel Your Volunteer Shift: Team
- Log in to your volunteer account.
- In the top right corner of the page, click on the circular icon containing your initials (or the hamburger menu on mobile). A menu will appear.
- Click on My Teams.
- You should see a list with the Team(s) you are Team Leader for. Click Manage Team.
- Click Unregister Team to cancel your shift. When the pop-up window asks you to confirm, click Yes.
