Volunteer: LAKE FOREST: DoorDash Set-Up & DistributionVolunteers will assist with setting up and preparing for the DoorDash pick-ups and then assist with loading groceries directly into Dasher's vehicles when they arrive to pick-up for our neighbors Food Bank Volunteers are NOT REQUIRED TO DRIVE OR DELIVER FOOD but instead, will assist with grocery distribution to DoorDash employees who pick up orders and then deliver them to neighbors nearby who have placed orders online for food from Northern Illinois Food Bank. Looking for volunteers to assist in packing food into boxes at the start of the shift and then loading it into dasher's vehicles as they arrive. Volunteers should plan to dress for the weather as they may be doing some packing indoors and then carrying boxes of food outside to load into vehicles throughout the shift. Our Center in Lake Forest is one of four across of our service area and is open to volunteers five shifts each week. We have opportunities for volunteers to sort and pack food, lead teams of volunteers during projects, support our team members with administrative and clerical projects and give back to the community while serving court-mandated service hours. We also have many ways volunteers can directly support our programs that help our neighbors in need. Volunteers assist with packing and loading grocery orders through our Door Dash program. There are lots of ways to get involved and make a difference for our neighbors today!
