At a Food Show located at the Rosemont Theatre!
Volunteer Opportunity Tuesday, November 18th: Help Collect Donated Food!
When: Tuesday, November 18 starting at 3:00 PM; Plan to stay until 8:00 PM or until finished
Who: Anyone willing to help gather donated food from a large food show. Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.
What: Packing up leftover pre-packaged food from thousands of Food Show booths.
Where:
- Park: Rosemont Theatre (5400 N River Rd, Rosemont)
- Walk: Across the street to the South Side of the Donald Stephens Convention Center to DOCK F (see attached map).
- Please check in with a Food Bank team member and receive instructions. Call Barb if you have questions.
Why: Your help means two free truckloads of food for our neighbors in need.
How: Collect donated food at booths, box it, and transport it on carts to the staging area. Expect plenty of walking and some lifting.
Extra Tips:
- Wear fully enclosed shoes (toes and heel should be covered) and be ready to get your steps in!
- If you have small carts or dollies, bring them and leave in your car—we may need them.
