The event is Saturday, August 9th! (Rain date will be Saturday, August 16th)
What Volunteers Need to Know
When to arrive:
- Please plan to arrive on time for a full picking experience as it is difficult to estimate the time it will take to glean the field.
- Shift is from 7:30am until approximately 10:30am
Age limit:
- Volunteers must be at least 8 years of age
- All minors must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years of age or older
- For a team of volunteers, one adult for every four youth ages 8-12 with a group is required; one adult for every ten youth ages 13-15.
- All volunteers MUST wear fully-enclosed (toes and heels) shoes in order to participate in any Food Bank volunteer shift
It is recommended that all volunteers:
- Wear a Northern Illinois Food Bank t-shirt if you have one
- Wear long pants
- Wear a long sleeve shirt
- Bring bug repellant
- Bring a hat and gloves
